SUMMER WINE CLUB THEME: SEXY Date: July 25, 2009 Host: Julie Starter drink: Passion cocktail Made with Alizé Red passion and Prosecco… tasty, nice colour - but not as sweet as I thought it would be! Wines tasted: SEXY Rosé Portugal, 2008 Vintages, LCBO Price: $14.95 LCBO Tasting note : “This flirtatious pink wine is as playfully seductive as the name implies. Strawberry and cherry aromas mingle with earthy notes and exotic floral accents. Juicy red berry flavours emerge on the palate, coupled with a delicate touch of spice” Our thoughts : This was a hit. Date: Dec. 9, 2008 The Buzz on Bank Street was a great choice for our Christmas wine club - we had good food, good service and best of all, could bring our own wine! Wines tasted: 1) Casillero des Diablo - Carmenère , Chile 2007 - Very good, would buy again – tasted cinnamon, chocolate, berry 2) Vineland Estates Winery - Merlot , VQA Niagara 2006 - Sweet, light and tasty 3) Wolf Blass Gold Label – Chardonnay , Australia (Vintages) - Good even if you don’t generally like Chardonnay! 4) Chateau de L’Estang – Bordeaux , Cotes de Castillon France 2004 (Vintages) 5) Inniskillin – Riesling , Late Harvest - Sweet, tasted apple/pear, good for dessert
